Janice is a former professional dancer, a Romana's Pilates Master Instructor Trainer, and USDF Bronze medalist. Her path from dancer to dressage rider combined with her clear and concise distillation of the Pilates Method creates Pilates for Dressage®, the original rider training program. Julie Allen, Assistant Instructor
Julie began taking Pilates mat classes 15 years ago, and after struggling with chronic back pain, found studying Pilates on equipment eliminated it. She became a certified instructor through Power Pilates in 2008, and upon searching for a more authentic Pilates method, was certified as a Romana's Pilates instructor in June 2011. She was certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2012, and finds Pilates allows its students to work smarter, rather than harder, and restores them.
Jeanne Deitrich, Assistant Instructor
Jeanne received her ballet training at the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Cincinnati Ballet and American Ballet Theatre and graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration. Jeanne began her Pilates training in New York to complement her ballet studies and continued after moving home to Atlanta. and became a Romana's Pilates Instructor in 2003.
Heidrún Halldórsdóttir, Associate Instructor
Heidrun has been a rider since she was 4 years old. At the age of 14, she started training young Icelandic horses professionally. In 2012, after studying with Janice Dulak, she became a certified Romana's Pilates instructor, and began practicing Pilates for Dressage®. She currently breeds and trains Icelandic horses and works as a Pilates instructor in Iceland. She's taken riding lessons with Julio Borba of Portugal, Jochen Hippenstiel of Germany and Sarah Martin in the U.S.
Karen Leopardi, Assistant Instructor
Karen is a certified Level V Romana's Pilates instructor and received her certification from Pilates Elder Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Mejia Santo at True Pilates New York in 2009. Karen is a musician and a member of the administration of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as Associate Director for Faculty and Guest Artists at the Tanglewood Music Center (the BSO's academy for advanced musical study). She received degrees in Performance and Music Education from the New England Conservatory of Music.
